When it comes to the most popular presidents in history, the jury is still out. From the founding fathers to more modern-day leaders, there are plenty of contenders for the title of “hottest president”. While some bad actors are using deepfakes to sow misinformation, shitposters are just imagining a funnier version of the president. So, who are the hottest presidents in history?

When talking about presidents, it’s hard to ignore President Jimmy Carter. He was the 39th President of the United States, and when I interviewed him in 2002, he told me that Southern Africa was the hottest theater of the Cold War when Carter took office. He was committed to changing the situation in the region, working for peace and democracy.

Another contender for the hottest president is former President Barack Obama. He was the 44th President of the United States, and his legacy is still strong today. He was the first African-American president, and championed progressive issues like healthcare reform, climate change legislation, and economic stimulus.

The current president, Joe Biden, is also an interesting case. After decades of trying, Biden is the president of the United States. His ability to bring people together, as seen in the bipartisan passage of the recent stimulus package, has made him popular with many Americans. Even a pizzeria that renamed its hottest dish “Spicy Joe” after Biden popped in last year for a bite says it is “ready to serve” the president.

Ulysses S. Grant is another president that deserves a mention. He was the 18th President of the United States and is remembered for his leadership during the Civil War and Reconstruction. Comedian Jason Barinholtz said, “I was very into playing Ulysses S. Grant. I’ve always said he is one of our hottest presidents.”

Finally, we can’t forget Chinese President Xi Jinping. He has been in office since 2013, and during his tenure, he has been credited with the country’s economic success and for fighting for a stronger China in the international arena. When Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, visited China in 2023 he said, “I have the warmest, kindest memories from my first visit to China.”

So, who are the hottest presidents in history? That’s up to you to decide. From Jimmy Carter to Joe Biden, there are plenty of contenders for the title. But, whatever your opinion, it’s clear that many presidents have achieved great things, making them important figures in our history.
