The President of the United States is arguably the most powerful person in the world and is given a generous salary to reflect this. The annual salary awarded to the President of the United States is $400,000. But, as we will explore shortly, this hasn't always been the case.

And as we work then to carry that baton further, let us continue to make progress in the many ways that we do, understanding the importance of continuing to pay the President a salary that reflects the work they do. And to our president of Benedict College, Dr. Roslyn Clark Artis, thank you for the great work you do in leading the college and inspiring our future leaders.

The current President of the United States, Joe Biden, is no exception to the rule and is given an annual salary of $400,000. This amount is not taxed, meaning that Joe Biden will take home the full amount at the end of the year. This is a generous salary for anyone, let alone for the leader of one of the most powerful countries in the world.

But it’s not just the current president who is earning a generous salary. The salaries of former presidents are also generous. Former presidents are awarded an annual allowance of $200,000 which is also not taxed. This added to the pension they receive as former presidents makes for a very comfortable retirement.

It’s not just the president who is earning a generous salary either. First lady Jill Biden recently told The Associated Press that there was “pretty much” nothing left for the president to do but pick a time to announce his candidacy. She made even stronger remarks to the Associated Press on the trip, when asked if the president was running again: 'How many times does he have to say it? He’s running. He’s running.'

The president and his family also receive a wide range of other benefits, including access to Air Force One, the Presidential yacht and Camp David, the presidential retreat in the Catoctin Mountains. These perks come at no extra cost to the president and are in addition to his generous salary.

Like many of the donors he would need to court, he is a successful businessman, having made a fortune in private equity. He is also a prolific fundraiser and has raised more than $600 million for his 2020 reelection campaign.

Now, my second update has to do with Saudi Arabia and Ukraine. The President made trying to find the origins of COVID a priority right from the start of his presidency, and he has been quick to act on this issue. He has taken a firm stance on the issue of human rights in both countries and is working to ensure that the people of both countries are treated with respect and dignity.

PRESIDENT TOKAYEV: (Inaudible) Mr. Secretary, I very much would like to welcome you to Astana. I believe that your visit is strictly in line with the essence of the Astana process and its goals in order to promote the peaceful settlement of the Syrian crisis.

The president has also been a strong advocate for equal pay for women. He recently signed an executive order which requires companies to disclose the salaries of their employees, regardless of gender. This is an important step towards achieving gender equality in the workplace.

The president has also been instrumental in providing access to high-speed Internet to all Americans, regardless of their income. He recently signed an executive order which requires all federal agencies to provide high-speed Internet access to all citizens, regardless of how much they earn, should have high-speed Internet.
