Colorado Democrats face a choice between two candidates for the University of Colorado's At-Large Regent seat. The winner will face the sole Republican candidate in the general election. The lone statewide race in the primary election is a contest for the Democratic nomination for the University of Colorado's governing board.

The CU Board of Regents held a meeting June 20–21 in which it approved the 2024–25 budget. It also approved the construction of a new solar project on campus. The University of Colorado Board of Regents consists of nine members serving staggered six-year terms, one elected from each of Colorado's congressional districts.

The University of Colorado Board of Regents, the governing body of Colorado's largest higher education system, has three open seats this election cycle. Education attorney Elliott Hood is challenging former CU football star Charles 'CJ' Johnson for a statewide seat. Boulder Weekly covered the candidates' platforms and backgrounds.

CU regents adopted a resolution that called out what it termed 'antisemitic,' 'racist' speech and condemned a pro-Palestinian student group. Pro-Palestinian protesters convened at the personal home of a Jewish University of Colorado regent but were met with pro-Israel counter-protesters. The University of Colorado Board of Regents is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion on campus.

The University of Colorado Board of Regents has approved two projects that will support CU Boulder's goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting sustainability. The board is focused on addressing climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for the university. The regents are working towards making CU a leader in environmental initiatives.
