India News: Kolkata South, a bastion of Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee, faces a significant election battle with strong competition from opposing parties in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections. The Trinamool Congress, under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee, has been a dominant force in West Bengal politics for years, but the upcoming elections pose a tough challenge for the party.

With just days to go before the election process for the Lok Sabha ends, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed confidence that the BJP will make significant gains in West Bengal. The BJP has been campaigning aggressively in the state, hoping to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiments and make inroads in areas traditionally dominated by the Trinamool Congress.

West Bengal news, Lok Sabha Elections 2024 news: But with Mamata, the supremo of the Trinamool Congress, at the helm of the state government, the party still holds a strong position in many constituencies. Nine Lok Sabha constituencies in Kolkata, suburbs, and Sundarbans, which are considered TMC strongholds, face crucial elections on June 1, with both the Trinamool Congress and the BJP vying for victory.

The BJP's nomination process was slow, and its choice of candidates seems in some cases to be inexplicable, especially when compared to the winning candidates put forth by the Trinamool Congress in the past. The Trinamool Congress had a clean sweep in all nine of these Lok Sabha seats during the previous elections, but the BJP is hoping to change that outcome this time around.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a spiritual journey today after holding his very last rally for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Modi has been a key figure in the BJP's campaign efforts in West Bengal, rallying supporters and making promises of development and progress if the BJP is elected to power.

Under the control of TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, police do not believe in providing a level-playing field for every candidate, according to reports. There have been allegations of bias and unfair treatment towards opposition candidates, raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process in West Bengal.

Initially dubbed as a Trinamool Congress versus Trinamool Congress contest, the BJP gained ground after Prime Minister Narendra Modi intensified his campaign efforts in the state. The BJP has been targeting key constituencies and mobilizing support from various sections of society in an attempt to challenge the dominance of the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal politics.
