Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president and candidate from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency Y.S. Sharmila on April 12 (Friday) said that the YSR Congress Party is gaining momentum in the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. Sharmila, along with YS Sunitha, is extensively campaigning in the Kadapa Parliament. Sharmila herself is contesting from the seat with the sole aim of bringing about positive change and development in the region.

Sharmila's campaign extends to her brother and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's home constituency of Pulivendula, where she aims to garner support from the ruling YSR Congress Party's loyalists. The party's regional coordinator Y.V. Subba Reddy has directed all members to intensify door-to-door campaigning efforts to reach out to the voters effectively.

The political landscape in Andhra Pradesh witnessed a significant development as politician Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu resigned as a Lok Sabha MP and from the ruling YSR Congress Party. This move has raised eyebrows and sparked discussions about the future of the party and its leadership.

Pothina Mahesh, who gained political mileage through Janasena and secured the third position in the Vijayawada West constituency in 2019, has decided to quit the party. This decision has added an element of unpredictability to the upcoming elections in the state.

The YSR Congress party received a major boost as veteran Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham officially joined the party nearly a month ago. This development is expected to influence the political dynamics in Andhra Pradesh significantly.

Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu has accused the ruling YSR Congress of resorting to violence across the state out of fear. Naidu's remarks have added fuel to the already intense political atmosphere in the region.

The campaign for the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh is reaching a fever pitch, with all parties fully engaged in canvassing and mobilizing support from the electorate. The YSR Congress Party's growing momentum is evident as they continue to make strides in various constituencies across the state.
