Credit: Marvel Studios. Without a doubt, WandaVision (2021) is Marvel Studio's best and most unique show. Starring Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany as Vision, the show took the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in a completely new direction. It was a mix of classic sitcoms and superhero action, with a powerful emotional core that resonated with audiences.

The show follows Wanda and Vision as they live their ideal suburban life in the town of Westview, but things are not as they seem. As the story unfolds, we see that Wanda has created this reality in order to cope with the loss of Vision, who died in Avengers: Infinity War. But as her powers grow stronger, she loses control and the reality she has created starts to unravel.

Wanda's journey throughout Phase 4 was fraught with trauma, from her sitcom fantasies in WandaVision to her eventual killing spree in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But it was also a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, culminating in her becoming the Scarlet Witch.

One of the standout characters in the show was Agnes, Wanda's nosy neighbor who is eventually revealed to be Agatha Harkness, a powerful witch who has been manipulating Wanda all along. Wanda learned at the end of WandaVision that Agatha wasn't someone she should be borrowing a cup of sugar from, and their confrontation was one of the highlights of the show.

The director of WandaVision, Matt Shakman, is most notably known for his work in television, and brought a unique perspective to the MCU. He is set to bring an X-Men Universe character on-screen, which might set up the next phase of the MCU.

As the Scarlet Witch, Wanda became all-powerful in the show WandaVision. She resurrected Vision when her grieving became too much, and she cast a spell that expanded the Hex (the reality she created) to include the entire town of Westview. But with great power comes great responsibility, and Wanda had to face the consequences of her actions.

MCU: Why Outside-the-Box Creativity Like WandaVision and Loki Needs to be the Franchise's New Direction, an article by Rafa Boladeras, explores the impact of these shows on the MCU. Boladeras argues that the MCU needs to embrace more creativity and take more risks in order to keep audiences engaged.

One of the breakout stars of WandaVision was Teyonah Parris, who played Monica Rambeau. Parris shared photos of her Avengers-themed baby bump on social media, and fans were delighted by the nod to her character's comic book origins.

WandaVision ended with Wanda going to study the Darkhold in order to try and bring her sons back. By the time of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we will see how this decision has impacted the MCU.

Some of the MCU's Phase 5 shows are expected to be delayed, and a new rumor suggested that one of them is WandaVision's spin-off. While this is disappointing news for fans, it's important to remember that the MCU is constantly evolving, and there are sure to be many more exciting shows and movies to come.
