A new report published out of Harvard Kennedy School's Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy provides a framework to help understand the growing issue of media manipulation in today's digital age. Led by Dr. Joan Donovan, The Technology and Social Change Project (TaSC) explored media manipulation as a means to control public conversation, highlighting the importance of addressing this issue to safeguard democracy and public discourse.

The Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy is pleased to announce the Spring 2024 cohort of Shorenstein Fellows, a group of talented individuals dedicated to advancing the understanding of media's role in shaping public opinion and policy. This diverse group of fellows will contribute valuable insights to the ongoing conversation on media manipulation and its impact on society.

In addition, the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy is pleased to announce the addition of Kathleen Carroll, Katie Couric, and other renowned journalists to its team. Their expertise and experience will further enhance the Center's research and initiatives aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in the media landscape.

Digital platforms, while offering many benefits, also pose significant risks, including privacy concerns, misinformation, cyberbullying, and algorithmic bias. The Shorenstein Center's research sheds light on these challenges and offers recommendations for policymakers, tech companies, and the public to address them effectively.

For the first time in the 18-year history of the Nyhan Prize for Political Journalism, administered by the Shorenstein Center on Media, exceptional journalists were recognized for their outstanding contributions to promoting truth and accuracy in reporting. This prestigious award underscores the Center's commitment to supporting high-quality journalism and combating misinformation.

The Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy is pleased to announce the Fall 2023 cohort of Shorenstein Fellows, a group of emerging leaders in media and public policy. These fellows will engage in cutting-edge research and projects that address pressing issues such as media manipulation, disinformation, and the role of technology in shaping public discourse.
