Finding in-person help from UC Riverside's BearHelp team is easier than ever with a new program stationing technicians at the two campus libraries. Extended stays in libraries have never been an activity to which I am particularly inclined to — stuffy, dimly lit, sonically displeasing. However, UC Riverside's library challenges this perception with its modern and inviting atmosphere. The library has undergone renovations to create a vibrant and comfortable space for studying, collaborating, and exploring a vast collection of resources.

A new UC Riverside Library exhibition explores the history of Indigenous languages with manuscripts, books, newspapers, and other materials. This exhibition provides a unique opportunity for visitors to gain insights into the rich linguistic heritage of Indigenous communities. It highlights the importance of preserving and celebrating these languages for future generations.

UC Riverside's California Digital Newspaper Collection, or CDNC, has received a $321,282 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. This funding will further enhance the accessibility and preservation of historical newspapers, offering researchers and the public a valuable resource for exploring the past. The CDNC continues to expand its collection, contributing to a comprehensive understanding of California's history.

UCR's libraries are a resource beloved by all, with study rooms that can be reserved for quiet time and reference materials aplenty. From rare manuscripts to historical documents, the Special Collections and University Archives provide students and scholars with a treasure trove of primary sources for academic exploration and discovery.
