The YIMBY movement isn't just for liberals anymore. Legislators from both sides of the political divide are working to add duplexes and multi-unit residences in urban areas to address the housing crisis. Almost 25 years ago, when Jörg Haider's far-right populist Freedom party (FPÖ) won just under 27% of the vote and entered government in Austria, it sent shockwaves across Europe. Partly because it offers simplicity and partly because it “hides our partisan sins. It allows us to be tribal without feeling tribal.” If we continue to view politics through a narrow, polarized lens, we risk alienating individuals who may hold nuanced perspectives that transcend traditional party lines.

The Utah Forward Party on Wednesday submitted signatures to qualify as an official political party in the state, signaling a growing discontent with the existing two-party system. This move reflects a desire for more options and diversity in political representation, challenging the dominance of entrenched party politics.

Natural law terrifies the left, which assumed it had long ago died. Leftists cannot admit that there might be those who welcome ordered principles that prioritize societal harmony and stability over individual autonomy. This ideological clash highlights the fundamental differences in values that drive left and right-wing politics.
