To better understand what divides -- and unites -- Americans today, the Pew Research Center created its Political Typology Quiz. This quiz aims to help individuals identify where they fall on the political spectrum and which values and attitudes shape their views on key issues. By sorting voters into cohesive groups based on their beliefs, the quiz provides a field guide for navigating the complex landscape of American politics.

Partisan polarization remains the dominant, seemingly unalterable condition of American politics. The Pew Research Center released on Thursday our 2014 political typology, including the newest version of our political typology quiz, which offers insight into the evolving landscape of American politics. By taking the political typology quiz, individuals can better understand the nuances of these divisions and work towards finding common ground with those who hold differing views.

One of the least highly educated typology groups, Stressed Sideliners are generally disconnected from politics and the two major parties. By taking the political typology quiz, individuals in this group can gain a better understanding of the political landscape and become more engaged in the democratic process.
